"Shadow Play"

Create a 3-D illusion on your quilt!  In this class, you will learn to create leaves (or other objects) that appear to float above the surface of your quilt. There’s nothing difficult about this process, and the results are amazing.

“Discharging” is the process of removing dye from fabric. We’ll use diluted bleach in a controlled way to create the perfect background. 

Adding the leaves or other objects to this background creates the illusion of “floating” above the surface of your quilt. It’s okay if you haven’t learned to dye—this is a different process altogether. Easy enough for beginners, and a fun surface design technique for experts.
